Aligning Text to College Ruled Background?

B

Brandon

Hi there. I just started using OneNote (great program by the way, very
valuable when it comes to taking notes for lecutres, etc.) My favorite
feature is being able to turn on the grid lines, and have them appear as if
you are typing on college ruled paper. My question, however, is how would I
go about setting up the program so that when I type over the college ruled
background, the text acutally aligns to the background. Presently, when I
type, the text doesn't always line up to the college ruled background, and
even if I manually set up the first line to align with the lined background,
the next line usually types on the rule lines, rather than going down to the
next line. Here's an example in case my post isn't making any sense: Thanks
in advance to everyone!

The rule lines are really more to guide people who are handwriting.
Unfortunately there isn't any facility to automatically align typed text to
the rule lines.

Use 20 point Verdana fonts and drag the start of the note
to be inside of a grid line. The rest of the lines will line up.
10 point Verdana will get you 2 lines per grid line etc.
You can experiment with other fonts and font sizes

These settings also work.
  • Calibri @ 19.5pt.
  • Adobe Source Code Pro @ 19pt
  • Bradley Hand ITC @ 19pt.
Doubling the point size will take up two lines.
Note: If the larger font bothers you, you can zoom out by holding control and using scroll wheel.
