Append word files using active x/macro

I am a labview developer trying to automate tests. The result can produce
upto 500 page report. I have template with book marks where my program
automatically inserts data.

I have two templates for report- Main Report Template and Test Template
report. First the program will open both templates. It will then fill in
the test template with test result.

I want to append the Test Template with my main report as I go. How can I
append files using macro or active x command.
