Black areas in PDF created from Publisher

When creating a PDF from Publisher 2007 many customers say when opened the
document had a large number of black areas. Also, not all pages were present
and the text seemed compressed in areas. Any idea what's the issue?

How are you creating the PDF; with Publisher's pdf or third party pdf
creator?
