blackened animations

Denise

Sometimes certain animations will enter the screen
completely black and leave a trail of blackness. Has
anybody seen this and can you tell me how to fix it?

Hi Denise,

Sorry to be so nosy, but more information would be helpful to figure out
what is going on.

What version of PowerPoint are you using with which version of what
operating system?

Did you install the PowerPoint updates for your system?

What animation caused this on what kind of object (text, picture, graph,
something else maybe?)?

I ran the updates on the computers. By "swirls" I actually
meant using animations such as "swivel", "Spiral", "fly
in". Interestingly, once the blackened path forms once on
an animation, it turns all the slides pictured in the
master list on the left completely black as well. If a
student then goes to a new computer, the first time through
the animations will be back to normal, but the next time
they will go black.

That really is strange. I'm not sure what animation you're referring to by
"swirls". Can you be more specific?

Anyway, the update you need is the Microsoft Office 2001 Combined Update
9.0.4. It's a free download from Microsoft. You can find it at their site:
<http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx#Office2001>

I am using office: mac 2001 with a Mac 9.2 Operating
System. I know nothing about the power point updates to
install. It seems to work with the more active animations.
For example, just using "appear" will work find. Swirls
sometimes turn black.
