Ok - I am running into this issue with BCM after a clean install of OFFICE
2007 with small business accounting and BCM. I have called my contacts at
Microsoft and have been given the runaround. I am trying to sell this
software to customers but how can I justify the sale of a new product when I
can’t get it to operate properly from the start. As soon as I switch folders
or go to contacts or any other place in outlook, get the message "BUSINESS
CONTACT MANAGER FOR OUTOOK COULD NOT COMPLETE YOUR LAST ACTION OR ACTIONS.
PLEASE TRY AGAIN."
I am running the full version software, not any beta. Any ideas?

I am experiencing the same type of error message that Jeremiah decribes in
relation to attempts to open password-protected user files (pst) from within
Outlook for Office 2003 with the latest Business Contact Manager Update
(installed yesterday). I can access the .pst by closing it within Outlook
and reopening it, however, no password is then requested and every keystroke
associated with navigating the records within that file is then accompanied
by the Business Contact Manager message: "The operation cannot be performed
because the object has been deleted." The operating system is completely up
to date (just checked yesterday for the Windows version, Office 2003 sp2 and
Outlook 2003 updates. All good).

I've also noticed that I can copy email records to and from the "broken"
..pst, and I can view them in the preview pane, but I cannot open them nor
work with them in any way. If I drag a record from the broken .pst, however,
to one that is not broken... I can work with it just fine.

Hey Dianem
I think that the common ground is password protected files. My PST is also
password protected for security reasons, so I wonder if there will be a patch
out anytime soon. I'm about to go back to Outlook 2003 and write off BCM
completely. This is such a hassle.

Thank you for verifying that, Jeremiah. Just so you know, I finally gave up
on BCM last night. If you do decide to uninstall it, please be careful. It
is not intuitive and it's easy to cause more harm than good if you follow
some of the advice on these message boards as stated. For instance, if you
use the Control Panel's "Add/Remove Programs" facility, and delete "BCM" as
indicated by many, you'll be deleting the Dell Broad Com Modem driver and,
effectively, destroying access to the internet (which is where you'd need to
go to recover the driver). The Business Contact Manager is actually (and
misleadingly, as noted by many others) listed as something like: "Microsoft
Outlook with Business Contact Manager" in the applications list. This
implies that, if you delete Business Contact Manager, you also have to delete
Outlook. That doesn't appear to be true. I deleted that and Outlook seemed
to return to 2003 status without the Business Contact Manager. The desktop
SQL Server is another problem. You apparently have to delete it, also, in
order to stop the madness. I did, but the icon is still in my status bar. I
supposed I'll find out more when I reboot... .but I've been too scared to try
that, yet. Anyway.... good luck to you, sir.
