Calendar formatting

I'm creating our annual calendar. I created a one-month calendar, then
updated the formatting, including the color schemes & the items to which each
main or accent color is assigned and the "styles & formatting" for text, then
I selected "synchronize formatting" as instructed in the help files, and
after all of that was done, I changed the date range to create a year's worth
of calendars.
Not only do the changes not synchronize, but the next months show up with a
variety of differing text styles, and accent colors... to make things even
more frustrating, the color schemes still show as being the ones I created &
applied.. as do the "styles in use" in "styles & formatting".

Has MS ever fixed this bug? Do I need to ask for updates to the program or
do I need to buy a MAC?

Which version of Publisher?

Quoted from Help:
Note When you change the dates on a calendar you may lose some
customization, such as fonts, events, pictures, and moved or resized
elements.

Maybe try changing the date range first before you change all the other
stuff (?)

or buy a Mac (dunno how that would solve anything either though)

Honestly I'm not sure a MAC is the answer either... I'm just at wits end!
I tried changing the date range first before making changes, and tried to
sync changes that way too also to no avail. That's when I started
researching help files & then the forum. From the answers I've seen here, it
isn't possible to force formatting changes to a wizard object (like the
calendar) and it isn't possible to create a calendar with multiple months
without using the wizard, or doing one at a time... which is probably just as
if not more time consuming.

The other fun thing... when I copy & paste from one doc to the other, even
though all the formatting is set up the same for existing months in the
publication the formatting will change... sometimes its the color scheme,
sometimes the fonts, sometimes the text box or cell properties... why I can't
copy and paste between two documents in the same program on the same machine
at the same time without weird, unexpected changes is beyond me....
but there you have it.

Calendars are tables, the easiest way to change the date range if you want the
same formatting in the new year is to tab through the table, adding a row as
needed. Special days can be typed into text boxes rather than directly into the
table cells. It may take longer, but in the end the original formatting doesn't
change. Color schemes do not carry over in a paste, make a note of the color
scheme, apply after the paste.
