Can I do a mail merge into a Power Point Presentation?

I use a set of Power Point slides in Live Meeting as a pre-event cycling
deck... The overall layout, and 99% of the information in the deck never
changes. But there are certain items that change (i.e. conference call
number, event title, date) every time I do a presentation.

I use a mail merge with data in Excel and being placed into a Word document
for all of the other items that I produce for an event. It would be great to
be able to run a similar merge with a Power Poing deck. This would both save
me time and help to reduce the chance of a data entry error caused by having
to manually update the Power Point deck everytime I use it.

I use Windows XP, and Office Professional with Live Meeting 2005.

Any advice would be truly appreciated.
