Can I save my backup files in a different drive

I would like to save my backup word documents (.wbk) in a different hard or
flash drive, is that possible? Both .doc & .wbk are in now in C:/.../xx/My
Documents. I don't see any option to select a different backup file location.

You should backup to your hard drive first and then copy the file to another
media.

Seems like MS Office should automatically offer another choice of location to
store backup files like MS Money does. As a MS Office home user I
ocassionally backup my changed Word & Excel files either on a second hard
drive or flash drive. Backing up the C:/ isn't very pratical and opening
then either dragging/copy/move the backup seems the long way around. Perhaps
there isn't a automated way but I'm still looking.

Word always saves the .wbk file to the same folder where the current .doc
file is located, and you can't change that behavior. You can make Word save
the current .doc file to two different folders at the same time, as described
in http://www.gmayor.com/automatically_backup.htm . But this is not the same
thing as saving the current version (.doc) and the most recent previous
version (.wbk). And note the referenced article recommends that you do not
save the backup copy to removable media (such as a flash drive).
