I cannot install Office XP Pro with Vista Business....I don't need to upgrade
to Office 2007....how can I work around this...I have all permissions and am
a admin, I get this error when I try to install:

"Error 1913.Could not update the INI file C:\Windows\system32\mapisvc.inf.
Verify that the file exists and that you can access it."

The file does exist.

I'm stuck on this same step, and I desperately need to get my old Outlook
e-mail imported into Windows Mail!!! PLEASE HELP US MR. GATES!

I turned off UAC and evidently that's not the problem. It appears this
mapsvc.inf file is NOT part of Vista and Office is looking for it. Any
suggestions from the Vista or Office team would be appreciated. I can't
imagine they would let Office 2003 go completely out of service, so there
must be a way.
