Cannot print HTML messages after removing OF 2007 Beta

P

Pat Garard

G'Day All,

After removing Office 2007 beta, and re-installing Outlook 2003, I am unable
to Print any HTML-formatted e-mail.

I see the "Printing" dialog box, which is then followed by

"Error"
vbCritical "A Runtime Error has occurred.
Do you wish to debug?

Line: 251
Error: Permission denied"
vbYesNo

If I select "Yes", I see:

"res://ieframe.dll/preview.js"
:
:
function OnLoadBody()

{

-->if(dialogArguments.__IE_BrowseDocument &&
dialogArguments.__IE_BrowseDocument.body) {

g_fRTL =
(dialogArguments.__IE_BrowseDocument.body.currentStyle.direction.toLowerCase()
== "rtl");

}
:
:

Any advice would be appreciated.

Have you run Detect and Repair?

Hi Milly,

Alas Yes!

I have also completely removed Outlook and reinstalled it - to no avail!

Thanks for your response.

try the fix - it should work since only outlook is affected. if ie fails,
there are other things to try.

Hi Diane,

The fix doesn't change anything, I'm afraid.

Uninstalling IE7 Beta does fix it, but it returns if I reinstall IE7.

Looks as if IE7 Beta goes in the bin with Office 2007 Beta - shame!

Hi Pat,

Let me answer here instead of the other thread. You said there:
For the record:- I seem to need to junk IE7 Beta on top of Office 2007
beta,
so here's my story:
Start: IE6 Office 2003 Pro Alls well
IE7 Beta Office 2003 Pro Alls well
IE7 Beta Office 2007 Beta OL refuses to print (propres.dll?)
Custom Outlook
Today hangs
Editor loses
cursor/wrong cursor
Slow to display
e-mail content
IE7 Beta Office 2003 Pro Some issues re-installing OL2003
OL wont print HTML
(Outlook NG)
IE6 Office 2003 Pro Alls well
IE7 Beta Office 2003 Pro OL wont print HTML
SO:
A disappointing experience with Office 2007, and some kind of "sequence"
problem that now stops me using IE7 Beta......

Which IE7 Beta are we talking about in those cases? The newest one is
RC1.

did you reboot? I had a print error with ie7 and a reboot fixed it.

Good Morning Patrick,

Thank you for your response, AND for drawing my attention to IE7RC1 -
I have installed it (with Office 2003) and for now all is well.

My reservation is due to the prior behaviour of IE7BETA3 which, when last
installed, prevented HTML printing; would not open correctly from e-mail
links and occasionally closed immediately after opening. (This behaviour
began only with the first Office 2007BETA install.)

I must now decide whether to try the Office 2007 Beta again.

My major concerns were with OL2007, where there seems to be a
"graphics layer" that somehow "leaked" and slowed things down:
Standard Min/Max/Close buttons would "peep through" occasionally.
During editing, the "wrong" cursor would appear (double-headed arrow say)
and persist until text was clicked.
Cursor would sometimes disappear completely.
Selecting text sometimes had to be done by dragging from end to
start (ie backwards) - dragging forwards resulted in the
selection end "stalling" even though drag continued.
When I clicked on an e-mail, the content was sometimes painfully
slow to appear in the Reading Pane.

Custom Outlook Today page would not work (IE problem?).

Anyway - thank you again!!

I'd sit tight for a while. B2TR is due soon (no firm ETA though). The
catch with B2TR will be that it is going to be a patch for B2. So you
can only install it on a machine that already has B2.
