Cannot Use SBA - Login Fails

I apologize if this is not the correct newsgroup, but from the limited list I
was presented with, this was the best choice.

Installed SBA 2006 on XP Pro with Office 2003 and SP1 running. Also have
Pinnacle Systems Studio 10 wihich also uses MSDE instance installed. SBA
seemed to install OK but it hung during the MSDE installation. I had to
reboot to get out of the hangup.

Opened SBA and setup my company, but when I tried to open the company, I get
this error "The following database error occurred: Login failed for user
'<domain>\<user>'. The same error will appear if I try to open a sample
company.

I login on my network as a user with Domain Admin privileges and Domain
Admins are a member of the local admin group.

I followed on MS KB article and changed permissions for the C:\Program
Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ\Binn to only allow
Administrators and System Full Control and Local Service Modify. Did same for
the Data folder.

In Services, MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ is set to use Local Service as for login
and set to Automatic and it is started.

Any ideas why I cannot get this open.

Thanks Echo S. I did see other groups in the regular newgroup section but
your link has many more. My purpose in posting here was the higher caliber
(knowledge-wise for the most part) of members reading these posts. Just
trying all avenues to solve this issue.

I will post in one of the other SBA groups from your link too.
