Cann't install the office 2008 for mac

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

I buy a office 2008 for mac home and students edition, but I can not install it on my macbook air, I have tried many times, and a Apple shop also can not install it, it always fail at the last step, it showed that " the program did not be found (in Chinese)". Microsoft China can do nothing for me, they asked me to contac the seller where I buy the office.
