I have used OL 2002 for very long, and all of a sudden, I can't open my
attachments in .jpg format (I don't know about other, I always receive those
ones.). It says "application can't be found".

Any idea of what happens? I am not aware I made any change lately.

Thank you very much

A "full page of strange characters" indicates that the image file is being
opened with an application that doesn't understand the file format. What
app do you have configured in Windows to open JPEG files?

Hmmm.... I am not aware I ever configured Windows to open an attachment. It
has always worked! I just did a research, it seems (please tell me if I am
wrong) that in Win XP it is automatic, they talk about configuration for 98,
ME, etc...

But it is a specilfic "Outlook" error message. And now I can tell that I am
able to open pdf and Word attachs. Only jpg.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I don't even know where to search...

Thanks a lot

Forgot to say that if I right click the attach, I don't have the option
"open
with..."

Of course not, since that's a Windows function, not an Outlook function.
Save the attachment to the hard drive. Then right-click in and choose Open
with. Specify an image rendering program like Paint or Picture Viewer
