Can't open word files since update works suite 2002-not available

Have microsoft works suite 2002 - had a security update recently - now when I
go to open a word document, I get "____ file no available".

If using Windows XP (Vista is probably similar) from Windows Explorer >
Tools > Folder Options > File Types. Locate DOC
Click 'Advanced'
Select 'Open' and click 'Edit'
In the window 'Application used to perform action, you should have

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE10\WINWORD.EXE" /n /dde %1
add quotes around the 1% thus
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE10\WINWORD.EXE" /n /dde "%1"

Check Use DDE
the DDE message should be

[REM _DDE_Direct][FileOpen("%1")]

I corrected as Graham Mayor stated (thank you); however the files are still
not available. What else can I do?
