Can't print with backgrounds in Word 2000

Paul

I am using Word in Office 2000, created a document and used one of the
standard supplied background textures ( Format-> Background-> Fill Effects ->
Textures). The background shows well on screen, but will not print. I can't
see it in print preview, when printing to a printer, or even when saving the
file in PDF format (I have Acrobat 7.0 integrated with Word).

I do have 'print background' enabled in Word (Tools -> Options -> Print),
yet it will not print the backgroundl. Am I missing something??

Actually, my preference is to save the file in PDF format, and include the
background, so if it is not possible in Word, is there some way I can save it
with a PDF file?

Hi Paul,

Prior to Word 2003 the backgrounds from Format=>Background were available only in Word web documents.

You can use File=>Web Page preview and print from the browser
or for a 'regular' Word document you can use View=>Header/Footer, use the Drawing toolbar and draw a rectangle shape and fill it
with the texture to print it.

well, thanks for the reply..

I must say that really sucks! Give us a feature in the program, but don't
enable it until you shell out a couple hundred dollars for the next version!
