I want to know how to change a theme for only one slide in a presentation while keeping the other slides the same. Is that possible and if so how do i do it? Every time I try to change just the one slide all the others change as well.

AFAIK, no, you cannot "mix" Document Themes. The concept of themes is to
provide convenient but consistent changes throughout the presentation. Each
theme is globally applied to the corresponding elements in the file. You can
directly reformat any individual object's elements differently from the
theme applied in the presentation, though.

I neglected to mention that you can also select any given chart and apply a
different Chart Style using the Formatting Palette in order to change its
color scheme. If you do, it remains tied to the Document Theme being used,
so if you choose a different Theme each charts colors will change according
to the new Theme but will still differ from one another.

The concept of themes is for throughout the presentation but there is a
workaround for your request.
1. Go to the slide you want to change the theme.
2. Add a blank slide after the slide. --Just hit Return key, then new slide
will be added
3. Select both the slide you want to change the theme and the slide you
added.
4. Change the theme. The theme is applied only the two slides selected.
5. Delete the blank slide.

So the trick is that you have to apply the Side or Document Theme change to
at least 2 slides in order for it to work... Thanks for the tip!
