Clean install question

I'm working as a TA and have been asked to install MOPS as one of my duties
in addition to grading. :) I've worked with MOPS for about a year, but I
haven't had to do an install nor an upgrade yet....lucky me I guess.

I'm planning on doing a clean install of MOPS07.
I have SQL Server 2005 and 2008 available.
I have MOPS07.
I have the MOPS07 sp1 downloaded.
but, no MOSS.

All the documentation I've read says that I need MOPS07 with SP1 to use
SS2008. But, part of the MOPS install involves creating databases. Will I run
into trouble by installing MOPS07 with SS08, configure the PWA, then do an
upgrade to MOPS07 SP1?

Otherwise I plan on installing MOPS07 with SS05. Upgrading to SP1. Then
upgrading to 2008.

What do you think?

Thanks for your help,
Theo

SQL Server 2008 is supported and the installation procedure is documented in
TechNet.
