Hi Pac,

Are there any add-ins running in one version but not the other?

What are the steps you're using and what is the exact error message you are getting?

Are you saving the documents as .docx, .docm or .doc?

Bob, thank you for replay.

I did not get any error message!
I know about earliest and latest version and I was carefuly about that.

But your warning about add-ins is something I didnt take care. Could you
tell more about that?

Hi Pac,

If this is only certain documents What happens when you try to open the document for editing from within Word?

If it's all documents check to see if the Office product has been activated from Start=>Programs=>Microsoft Office

To help rule out add-in interfering see if starting Word in Office safe mode (hold ctrl key while starting Word) and/or using
Start=>Run
Winword.exe /a
makes a difference in being able to edit the document
