Convert .PPT files to .PDF Files

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I have Powerpoint 2008 for Mac and I am saving a small presentation with little on a few slides.

If I save it as PPT format it ends up being 612 KB but if I convert to a .PDF file it it ends up being 9.0 MB
What to do?

Hi Jorge, I have also posted a similar query, I am trying to reduce file size of ppt from 15MB previously I have always been able to greatly reduce size when I convert to pdf but this time it is staying the same.
Not sure what I am doing wrong. If you get any joy please advise as sounds similar issue
