converting schedule gregorian dates to Fiscal periods

I am looking for assistance in developing code for Project PRO 2007/Project
Server 2007 that
will convert the gregorian dates in a project schedule to their corresponding
fiscal calendar.

I know that the data analysis function allows for defining the fiscal
calendar, which we have done, but there are various custom fields that we
ahve in project that are not available in any of the cubes used in the Data
Analysis configuration.

We had a com-addin in PS2003 that was customized to do this. It summarized
the work, cost, baseline work, and baseline cost by resource within our work
package designator (a task level field, not the MS Project WBS).
Unfortunately, our implementation contractor left us with the DLL only, no
code, no workable documentation and not on great terms.

My best guess is that the process extracted from the resource assignment the
work package designator, the resource name, the work, cost, baseline cost,
and baseline work and the the gregorian schedule date for the work, cost, and
baseline cost/work to a file. It then took the gregorian date compared it to
a fiscal calendar table (somewhere in the PS2003 database), creating a
summary table containing the resource name, the fiscal calendar period and
the sum of the work, cost etc applicable to the fiscal month.

Once the extract was completed, it generated an excel file containing the
converted fiscal data and a pivot table based on the converted data.

The "report" could be run realtime straight from project pro.

ANY assistance, not matter how small would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan

Stephen,
that was my first thought, ie to add the fields to the WSS or risk cube.
I've been unable to figure out how to add (or reference) the ones I need,
such as enterprise text11 (task field) for example.

Enterprise Text11? There's no such thing in Project Server 2007, unless
you named a Task-level text field "Enterprise Text11". Are you sure
you're not working with local fields?

In that case, you're working with a local field which you cannot get to
show in the cube at all unless you convert it to an enterprise custom
field.

Is that feasible for you? You may want to try creating the custom field
and populating it for a small project, just to see if you can get what
you want out of the system.
