Converting Word file (2003) to PDF - background colour issues.

I am converting a word file to an Adobe file, using Acrobat Professional 9.0.
Generally, everything works great except that when I print the PDF on actual
paper the background is yellow. On the screen the background does not appear
yellow, just when I print the file onto a piece of paper. As I have
converted other word documents to PDFs using Adobe Professional 9.0, and
there was no problem when printing an actual physical paper, I am guessing
the problem lies in my word document.

One last note, when I convert the same document that I am having trouble
with in Acrobat 9.0, using Acobat 8.0, the document is fine, and prints fine.

Any ideas on options and/or formatting etc. that I can check on the word
document so that I can print the PDF converted using 9.0 without a problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, Cait, but I can't follow your logic :-}

The file isn't Yellow on screen in Word,
The file isn't yellow if you print from Word,
The PDF isn't yellow on screen in Acrobat 8,
The PDF isn't yellow if print from Acrobat 8,
The PDF isn't yellow when you view it in Acrobat 9,
The PDF *is* yellow when you print from Acrobat 9, &
Once the PDF is created Word has nothing more to do with printing or the PDF
in any way...

Yet you conclude that Word is responsible for the non-yellow PDF created in
Acrobat 9 printing yellow?

It sounds more to me like there is a breakdown in communication between Acro
9 & your printer driver... Have you checked to see if there's a driver
update available? What happens if you open the Acro 9 PDF in Acro 8 & print
from there?... or Reader?... or Preview?

If there's any possibility that the doc is at fault you'll need to supply
additinal details, such as exactly what is printing yellow. Is the paper
being printed with a yellow background?... Is the text yellow? What
formatting was used in the file? It makes a lot more sense for you to
expalin what was done in the file rather than have someone run through a
list of myriad formatting attributes that "might" be involved - AFAIK there
is no known issue of that nature to point to & ther isn't anything specific
to be suspected.

Additionally, you need to include your Office/Word update version & OS
version information, what file format the Word doc is saved in as well as
any additional details you can furnish.

Also of note:

Acrobat has just in the last few days issued Acrobat/Reader 9.1 updates.

Caution the files are extremeeeeeeeeeely large and Unless you have a a
DSL or Cable connection you may have to leave your computer on overnight
just to download them. and You might have to attempt several retries to
install them.
