copy paste errors using automator in excel

Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel I have several cells of data that I need to change from a formula to just the value that the formula yields. I do this by copying the cells and then pasting over top of the same cells by choosing "paste special>values". This replaces the formula in the cell with the value that the formula created. I'm attempting to use automator by using the "watch me do" option. It stops every time and reports an error that has no specifics (simply says "watch me do encountered an error". Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Solved it. I needed to create a macros to complete the function, not use automator.
