I am researching the possibility of using MS Office 200x products to create a
fully searchable supplier catalog to be placed on a CD. I have about 150
different suppliers, and want to add photos, video, and PDF data sheets,
along with the usual text and hperlinks. I am currently looking at a non-MS
tool called Hyperpublish, but have a gut feeling that the MS office suite
might be a better fit.
Could I use MS Publisher to create the overall structure, maintaining a
consistent look and feel throughout the catalog? Should I use Access to
store the "data buckets" (eg. text, images, etc) and link them into
Publisher? Can I them push the Publisher document to a CD and make it run
stand-alone? Would I benefit from using Frontpage in the mix?
I realize that I have presented many questions, and any guidance is greatly
appreciated.
