Custom labels and Mail merge

I downloaded an Avery holiday label template, modified the return address,
set up mail merge as I would normally do with my outlook contacts but find
that I cannot click on "update label" and therefore get only 1 address per
page. I'm sure there's an easy solution but I'm tearing my hair out trying
to figure this out.

Did you specify your Mail Document as a Letter or Mailing Labels? It sounds
as though you didn't. Open your label document and change the Main Document
type to Labels. When prompted to select the Label Type (Label Options) click
Cancel. Your document will then be treated as Labels and the Update Label
command will be enabled.
