Custom OneNote Flag Symbols

Is there a way to create these symbols myself and add them to OneNote 2003
sp2? While the ones with OneNote are okay, I am a Program Manager for a
global company and I would like our PMO to use our own standard set of
symbols for reporting purposes.

Can this be done with the Office 2003 Resource Kit?

The available symbols to be used in ON Note Flags are hardcoded into the
product and cannot be changed. There are no utilities (ResKit or
otherwise) to change this.

It seems that will be the case as well in v2007, although there will be a
much larger selection of symbols to choose from.

This does not seem to follow the standard Office Developer Kit philosophy of
allowing organizations to customize parts of the Suite to meet their business
needs. Very disappointing. I love OneNote 2003, just this one issue keeps
coming up.

Fair enough, and I agree. ON is still a very young product and it does not
have the up to 15-20 years of attention that the other products have.

The new API for ON2007 is greatly improved, and I'm sure in a future
version, more customization is coming. The folks at MS only have so much
time to devote to the product. Not an excuse, just an explanation.
