drawing objects and formatting

We recently converted to Office 2000 (from 97). In old and
new documents, we are unable to consistently see drawing
objects such as callouts or lines. We do have the
Tools/Options/View Drawing Objects and Printing/Drawing
Objects selected. The objects print correctly in hard
copy. They don't show up in any of the views after we move
to another page and then return. If we click on the
object, it reappears (usually).

Wonderful feature isnt it. Drove me so mad I went the full trip and
now do all my line art in Visio, export as EMF and inline link to
that.
