When I send messages Entourage will put one copy in the sent items folder as the mail is sending entourage connect to the server and I am given new mail notice (sound) but the new mail is a second copy of the mail I just sent being delivered to my sent items folder. How do I stop this from happening I don't mind one copy of mail I send but I do not need 2 Is there an option I overlooked that can stop the duplicating? Help please thank you

This is not the typical Entourage behavior. You either have a rule or a
setting on your account to forward the email resulting in the duplicate.

Some IMAP providers place the item in the Sent Items folder
automatically. Try turning *off* the feature in Entourage (Tools >
Accounts) to save your sent mail on the server.

Thank you that was the problem all long it seemed that both AOL and Entourage were being told to keep copies in the sent folder I followed your suggestion, which tells Entourage to stop it now it works fine
Thanks again

Ah, I could have answered you more definitively if you mentioned you
were using AOL. You need to see my guide at
.
Adam - I have the same duplicate problem (one in the inbox and one in sent items) but i am not using AOL and it is only when I reply. This just started. I don't think I have intentionally changed anything. I just want to be in my sent item list. Do you have any ideas?[/QUOTE]
