Enforcing SubForm vertical scrollbar to be enabled

Hi Experts,

I have a mainform within which a subform. The vertical scrollbar is enabled
on the the subform, every thing is going fine. When I select a criteria from
the cbobox on the mainform I get the exact data and every thing quite fine in
the subform except that the vertical scrollbar disapears where it is needed
to scroll down. Now, please how to fix it? Many thanks.

The vertical scroll bar will disappear if the rows in the subform don't
reach the bottom of the space allowed for it (which is what is happening
when your subform is filtered. You may be looking for the vertical scroll
bar of the main form.
..
Unfortunately, if your main form is a bit long for your screen, the top or
bottom of the form disappears off the edge of your screen as your subform
moves (in a mistaken attempt at being helpful) to the top of the screen .
Very inconvenient.

Try adjusting the lengths of your main and subforms. Try setting the
AutoResize of the Main Form to No in its Format Properties and AutoCentre to
yes and see if that helps.

Hi Abdulmuz,

When you are looking at your subform, if you see gray under the row it means
the form is opened too much. It's personal preference but when you see gray
it just means you need that many more rows to fill it in before the scroll
bar appears. I usually open mine to fit three rows. On the fourth(if there is
one) the scroll bar will apear. If only two rows then obviously the scroll
bar isn't needed and there will be some gray on the bottom. If you do not
want any gray showing then adjust your form to fit one row and when the
second row is started it will produce the scroll bar.

Hope this helps!!

Hi,

Thanks for your prompt attempt to assiste me, but maybe my question was not
so clear. If you refer back to my questoin "v. scrollbar disapears where it
is needed to scroll down" in other words before I filter my subform every
thing is ok the v. scrollbar is there, but after filtering the subform v.
scrollbar just disapears even number of records is longer than the subform.
What you have mentioned in your anwser is quite obvious, because when the
last record does not reach the bottom, I don't need any v. scrollbar to
scroll up or down. I think this problem might relates to the form's
properties, but how?, I don't know. I did some attempt with another fomes and
subforms, some work fine, mine don't!. I'll try agian and when I reach to
any result I'll let you know. Thanks,

Is it the Vertical Scroll Bars on the Subform which you want back or the
ones on the main form?

I think that for something like this, the Form Design view is more difficult
to manipulate than in the old 'blank white space for the subform' view which
you got in Acc97.

You need to open your main form in Design view.

First select the subform control itself (not inside it). You will know when
you have done this because the Object Box (a white box on the Toolbar
usually just under the word File) will now contain the name of your subform
control rather than the name Form.

Small black squares will appear at each corner of your suform so that you
can size it. Make it less high (You can use the Height property of the
Properties box to allow you to do this accurately). If it won't all this,
then you may need to rearrange the controls within your subform.
Now make the bottom section of your main form less high, moving controls
around if necessary, so that your main form fits on the screen.
