entourage cannot access data

My iMac G5 blocked. Reopening entourage, there was following message :
"Entourage cannot access data. To attempt to fix the problem, rebuild your
database".
During rebuildeing the database, we have following message :
"An error occurred while attempting to verify your database. An I/O error
occurred."
I have also done "disk repair", "disk permission repair", ... (no problems
doing it) but the problem remains.
I' ve tried to make a copy of the file .../main Identity/Database", but got
the following message :
"The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "Database"
could not be read or written (Error code -36)."

How can I make a copy of the file ?
How can I recover my data (Database = 6,4 Gb).

After to the blocking of the computer, I've als a problem with Excel and
Word. When opening these programs, the following message appears :
"An unexpected error occurred while trying to load Microsoft Framework
Library".
Is there a link with the problem of Entourage ?

I have no problems with other identities or other users.

Thank you for helping me.

Sounds like you need to replace your database with your most recent
backup copy.

An I/O error almost always means disk damage.
I have also done "disk repair", "disk permission repair", ... (no problems
doing it) but the problem remains.

Error -36 is not listed on the Error Page, but often errors close in number
have similar solutions. All of the lower negative errors have to do with
damage. With the I/O error this is indicating serious problems.

How can I make a copy of the file ?
How can I recover my data (Database = 6,4 Gb).

After to the blocking of the computer,

Can you explain what blocking means?

See the solutions here:

Before you can recover your data you need to be sure your drive is safe and
that it has enough space for swap files and rebuilding Entourage.

I suggest that you run the latest Apple Combo updater, but you might also
need to do an "Archive & Install". Use "Remove Office" and then install
Office and update. You'll need 3 updaters. 11.3.5, 11.3.6 and 11.3.7. Apply
in that order after installing from your CD.

If you could move all of your data to a secondary drive, wiping your drive
might be able to block out any bad sectors on your disk. With all of the
errors you mentioned, it sounds like you could have catastrophic data loss
pending.
