Entourage updated and now crashes constantly

I just recently updated Entourage on my MacBook Pro running OSX 10.5.7 to Entourage 12.1.9 As soon as I installed the update, I started getting constant crashes, usually when I simply click on an unread email. It's something like every 5th email or maybe even more frequent.

Always worked like a charm before the update, and I haven't changed anything else on the system. Any ideas?

We need to identify if it's your Identity or your Office install. Let's
eliminate your Identity first.

Drag your Main Identity to Shared folder.

"/Users/Shared"

Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the
New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching.

Open Entourage. It will create a new Microsoft User Data folder and a new
blank Main Identity. Quit Entourage.

Drag (it actually copies) your Main Identity from Shared and let it
overwrite the new Main Identity.

Open Entourage and test in this new User. Be sure to set Entourage to leave
mail on server for the test. (Open Accounts under Tools in the Menu bar.
Click on the Options tab and ˆ Leave on server) This will not save any sent
mail.

Does the problem go away? If yes, then there is a problem in your User's
folder.

If no, then your update could be bad and you would need to re-install
Office. Some of the components could have not fully updated.

After the test, remember to drag your original Identity back from Shared to
your regular User, or Entourage will open in a new Identity.
