Does anyone have a workaround for the equations being converted to pictures problem ? There are several posts on it, but (as far as I can see) no solutions. If I am missing something, please point it out to me.
Not only did my equations turn to pictures at seemingly random times, a lot of them were formatted with a named style "+ Lowered by 10 pt" (or 7 pt, 26 pt, etc). The only solution I found was to make multiple backup copies of the paper and take equations from earlier versions if / when they got corrupted in the current document.
I am going back to word 2004 - I know it has problems with equation editor, but as long as you don't copy and paste equation objects it is fairly well behaved.

I thought most of the Equation problems were solved by the latest updates.
Have you applied your updates?

Not sure what you mean by "fixed," John. All the equations that got turned
to pictures before the last update are still pictures. Not sure if any new
equations have turned to pictures...

I meant "No further equations should turn to pictures."

But you will have to go back and manually fix the ones that are already
pictures.
