I have an item in Unread Mail but when I click to open I get the Outlook
Message:
"Can't open this item. The message you specified cannot be found".

I just want to clear this item from Outlook.

Any ideas?

POP3/IMAP or Exchange mailbox account? Reason I ask is that you could try
running the Inbox repair tool (scanpst) against your PST file(s) if you are
a POP3/IMAP user.

If you are an Exchange user and running Outlook 2003/2007 in cached mode,
you could try the scanost tool against your OST file.

Additional info:

I've tried using the repair tool and restarted the PC but the problem
remains. There is no body of the email in the reading pane. When I try to
delete it I get:

"Item could not be deleted. It was either moved or already deleted, or
access was denied."

It only appears in Undread Mail folder. FYI am using Office 2003 & POP3.

Ah... try deleting/recreating the Unread Mail search folder.
