Error 0x8007000E receiving email

Martinez

One email account on Outlook 2003 after previously working fine suddenly is
unable to receive email and returns the following error: 0x8007000E: 'out of
memory or system resources. Close some windows programs and try again'. Even
with nothing else opened! All other user accounts are ok. The isp assures me
that it is not a problem at their end.

Thanks
That is exactly the error message! However I have cleared all mail at my POP
via the isp website and am still getting the message! Any other thoughts?

Have you run ScanPST against your PST? Is your PST Unicode (did you use a PST
from an earlier version of Outlook)?
Have you deleted and recreated the Outlook profile?

I tried creating a new Outlook profile, and the error persisted... it
only appears for one of my accounts (my primary/default), and I even
tried changing the default to another email account, and that did not
help either. I believe my PST was new with Outlook 2003, as I had lost
previous emails in a computer crash prior to moving to Outlook 2003
that I can remember.....

How do you find out if a PST is unicode (and can you convert it)? I'll
see if I can find/try ScanPST I guess?

Thanks,
Eric

Ran ScanPST, it told me that the file was repaired.... still receiving
the same out of memory error....

thoughts?

You may have to run ScanPST a few times. Unicode is just a format for the
PST, new with 2003. What that means is for 2003 to use an existing PST from
an older version of Outlook some steps must be taken first.
Are you connecting through a firewall? The only other information I can find
for you on this error is the following:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...k/wmi/connecting_through_windows_firewall.asp

Overview: If Computer B is either a member of WORKGROUP or is in a different
domain that is untrusted by Computer A, then Connection 2 is created as an
Anonymous connection. An anonymous connection fails with either the
0x80070005 error or the 0x8007000e error unless Anonymous connections are
given the DCOM Remote Access permission on Computer A. The steps to grant
DCOM remote access
permissions are listed in Securing a Remote WMI Connection.

This could indicate that a firewall is failing an anonymous connection which
results in your error.

I had exactly the same problem and went through all the troubleshooting steps
with no success including uninstalling and reintalling Office. Nothing
helped. I then tried Outlook Express and it downloaded the queued messages
from my ISP's email server without difficulty. Mostly spam. In any event
after I got rid of the messages queued on my email server I sent half a dozen
test messages and Outlook got them without the out of memory error.

Not smart enough to know if Outlook (which cost me $250 with Office) gets
hung up with corrupt or non standard message headers while free Outlook
Express doesn't, but that's what it looks like. I'll have to wait a few days
or see if the problem recurs.

Dear Apagano - I tried it and it worked! I'm able to download all my emails.
I'm using Outlook Express for now because I finally have access to all my
emails!!! Thanks Apagano!!!!
