error 1308

I yesterday cleaned my disk and deleted old .bak files. Apparently an
error. Since when now starting MS Office XP prof Office tries to
install (?!) Office again and searches for files. I then get error
message 1308. Setup can't find ...
files\pfiles\msoffice\appdata\ms\office\data\data.bak

I looked for a file with that name among the files saved on the disk but
didn't find it.

Is there a workaround?
