error 1311 with Office 2003 Basic

I am trying to install the office assistant as prompted from Help on
the menu for Word, and get error message 1311 ... cannot find ...
cs561404. I've tried looking on the Microsoft support site and can't
decide if any of their suggestions would help - and anyway I can barely
understand them. Can someone give me help in ordinary English?

Was Office pre-installed from your original equipment manufacturer?
Meaning, did it come with your computer? And do you have a CD for it?
