Error 3162

I have a calls table & when trying to enter data into the notes section I get
the following error message "You tried to assign the Null value to a variable
that is not a Variant data type. (Error 3162)". I haven't changed anything
that I am aware of. Also, if I advance to the next record and then go back I
am typically able to enter the data with no error. Please help!
