error message in Office Help

When clicking on a link to a definition within Access or
Word HELP, I get a message that "Winhlp32 has performed an
ilegal operation and wiil be shut down"

with the following details:

WINHLP32 caused an invalid page fault in
module WINHLP32.EXE at 017f:004099ba.
