Error messages on sending mail

I get the following error messages when sending with an attachment in
Outlook 2007. Messages with no attachments get sent.

Task - Sending ' reported error (0x8004210B):
The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP)
server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server
administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
and
Task Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0B): 'Unknown
Error 0x800CCC0B'

I changed my user profile as suggested on the Microsoft site. That
didn't resolve the issue. I have Win XP Home Edition and use a Linksys
router. Can someone please help me?
