Error opening Outlook 2007

E

Ed Wyche

I am getting a "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail
client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office
Outlook and set it as the default mail client." I have it as the default
email client. Also under the mail icon in control panel I have another
profile that is {d9734f9-8cfb-411d-bc59-833e334fcb5e}. I can delete all the
profiles and create just one profile that other profile comes back again. I
have tried all the solutions that I have found in the net.

I am using Windows Vista and Outlook 2007.

Thanks
Ed

This is at work connecting to a Exchange server. I do not have an
application that access Outlook data. There is one other person that is
having the same problem.

It sounds like a problem with roaming profiles.

Do you get this error all the time or only when you try to do something
specific?

FYI - I am also experiencing the problem described herein.

I am working at the Commissioner of Higher Education's office in Montana. We
use an off-site Exchange Server. The whole system is working fine - except
for ONE of 50+ computers.
On this ONE computer, I have tried ALL the suggestions to fix this problem
that I've found on line (these include working with the Program Settings in
Explorer; showing Outlook Express and then setting it to Deafult mail Client
(and then setting it back to Outlook 2007); and working with the settings
that are inside Outlook 2007.
In most cases, Outlook has responded as you would expect -- upon start up,
it asks if you want to set the Deafulat mail Vlient to Outlook - I click yes,
and that does NOT fix the problem.

PLEASE include me on any solutions to this challenge. i would greatly
appreciate getting an e-mail when solutions to this are posted - please send
to jespencer - at - montana.edu

Thanks much for your help!
