Error when exporting project from Portfolio Server to Project Server

Although the configuration appears correct, we have gotten the
following errors when attempting to export a project from Portfolio to
Project. We've gone to the Preferences screen in Portfolio and
selected the Project Server Gateway link (at least 1 time) to enable
for the account being used.

This is the error message we were getting in the beginning:

"Authentication data undefined for specified Project Server and
current user"

This is the error message we are getting now since going to the
Preferences screen in Portfolio:

"The request failed with HTTP status 401: unauthorized"

The userid being utilized in Portfolio Server has Admin rights and had
been used to successfully perform work in both Portfolio and Project
Server up until this point.

Thanks ahead of time for your help - which is badly needed right
now :)

Anovak,

I have been struggling with this same issue also and I think it is probably
a DNS issue. Can you give me some specifics on the DNS problem and fix?

Thanks,

I believe the answer to your problem is granting your Portfolio Server
service account privledges on teh Shared Service Provider in Sharepoint
Central Admin. You have to choose to edit existing shared service providers
and hitting the drop-down menu and pick "Edit Properties". Scroll to the
bottom and add in NT AUTHORITY\Network Service (Which is the default account
foR PPS) and this should fix your problem.
