Hi Diane

Thanks for your prompt response. It appears the descriptions for the errors listed in the weblinks you sent me are different to those I am getting.... (see previous message)....hence, even if I did try to rectify error 1025 as given in the weblink it didn't fix the problem and error -17900 is meant to be due to sending message to too many recipients ( as stated in weblink) but i get it when sending to just one person.....

any other tips would be super1

thanks
AdV.

Does the problem exist for all messages you send or just to certain
addresses?

If it's all then it's your account info:

1. If you can receive but not send then you have a bad SMTP configuration
2. If you can send but not receive you have a bad POP or IMAP configuration

If it's particular addresses, then most likely they are malformed. I've seen
all sorts of crap entered for an email address. Your best option is to use
Entourage's command to <Add to Address Book>. Look for spaces in front of
the name, "" around the name and other stuff that's not the actual email
address.

The advanced setting for SMTP need to be adjusted.

With all the new security fixes to servers, most ISPs now require certain
ports, SSL and other settings. Your ISP should tell you what is required to
set up your account.
