In Excel 2000, while formating a data series in a chart, I keep getting the
following error: This program has performed an illegal operation and will be
shut down...
If you click Details, the error message reads:
EXCEL caused an invalid page fault in module EXCEL.EXE at 018f:303da3ea.
The same thing happened in Excel 97 but the error message iin Details was:
EXCEL caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at 0137:bff9a5d0.
Microsoft provided a workaround in Excel 97 which involved removing the
repeat arrow on the toolbar (Article ID : 172321) but it does not help in
Excel 2000.
