Excel crash while using VLOOKUP

W

WINDMILL

perhaps 1 in 4 times I use VLOOKUP, I get kicked out of excel, receiving this
error
"Excel.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need
to restart the program.
An error log is being created"

Any suggestions?

You could try Help>Detect and Repair... or you may have a corrupt workbook
on the way. If so, save a copy and then try and rebuild the workbook into a
fresh one.

Thanks for answering
I have tried the Detect and repair, and the problem isn't isolated to 1
workbook, I have created new workbook and replicate the problem.
For a time I thought that when I turned the office assistant off it stopped
the crashes......
any more suggestions would be welcome.
thanks
