Excel opens read-only first time

Hi,

I have noticed this on a few computers. When I (or someone else) open up an
Excel 2007 document we get the old "Read Only / Notify / Cancel" prompt,
apparently because the document is locked by another user for editing. You
close the document, open it, and it is fine. Close it down and open again a
while later and you are hit with - "Read Only / Notify / Cancel". It seems
to happen the first time you open the xlsx file in a, say, 10 minute window.
The first time you open it it says "downloading filename.xlsx", which can
take up to 10 seconds (daft!!!) and then it displays the prompt. If it
doesn't do the whole downloading bit it is fine.

I have read something about temp files. These are files stored in a network
share and I don't see the tmp files being created in the same location
(folder) as the file, which is what I thought used to happen.

Where else would I look. I have deleted users\%username%\app
data\local\temp and I have deleted temporary internet files.

Thanks,

Jarryd
