Excel problem

Ed Varner

Hello. I hope I am posting in the correct newsgroup. I use Excel 97
and am having a recurring error in all of my saved programs. Anytime I
am working on a previously saved worksheet, I get the following error
message when I attempt to change the font color or background color of
a cell:

XCEL caused an invalid page fault in
module MSO97.DLL at 0167:307333ca.

The program then crashes. I can change font colors and background
colors in new files, as this error only seems to occur on my saved
files. Copying the worksheet to a new book does not stop the error
from occurring. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ed V

Someone wrote <<If the problem persists, reinstall Windows>>

Before you do that you need to be aware that EVERYTHING on the hard will be
lost. You need to have a backup and, if it is not a 100% backup, you need
to be able to accept any loss. There may be a way of going back but will
cost hundreds.

Have a look at my web site

information.
