Excel Time Logged Out

L

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel As of recently (over the last few days), whenever I use Excel, I am unable to shut down my computer afterward without it freezing. A message appears saying something along the lines of "excel log out failure", and the only way to end the program is to force quit. After I force quit, I'm able to shut down the computer. I was wondering what was causing this and how to fix it.

Thanks.

No idea, and this one may take a while to find.

You haven't stated your update version: that's the first place to start:
make sure Office is fully up-to-date.

After updating, run disk utility and Repair Permissions, then shut down the
computer until it turns off. That will clean things up.

Now try?

Thanks: We'd like to know what happened there, so we can help other users.

Thank you. I'm running version 12.2.3, and I spent hours (yes, hours) on the
phone with both Apple and Microsoft. I archived and re-installed Snow Leopard,
erased the Microsoft preferences and re-installed Office...it was working fine
until it had a software update. Now, neither Apple nor Microsoft can figure
out the problem. It is no longer limited to just Excel, but all of the Office
programs. I'm bringing it in to Genius tonight to see what they can do.

Thanks for your help--I'll keep you posted.
