F4 broken for Picture resizing

K

Kelly Robson

Hello,

I am constantly working with documents with a lot of pictures in them. In
the past I have been able to resize one picture, and then select the next
picture and press F4, select the next picture and press F4, etc. throughout
the whole document to resize all the pictures.

In the current documents I am working on, F4 will not work for picture
sizing. It seems to have something to do with the document template, because
F4 will work in documents generated by other templates, using the same
pictures.

How can I change this template to allow F4 to resize pictures for me? I have
hundreds of pictures, and can't do them all individually from scratch.

Are you using Word 2007? Note that the dialog boxes dealing with graphic
settings are a bit different depending on if you are working in compatibility
mode or not, which might explain what you are seeing. With documents in Word
97-2003 format, the dialog box(es) and the F4 key should work as they did in
Word 2003.

Not specifically answering how to get F4 working in a document based on a
different template, but I have found that using F4 to resize pictures is not
always the best method.
In the past an MVP here posted me a little macro, which I have slightly
edited to my requirements, that resizing all Inline Objects in a document
which works well.
This macro resizes to a specific width (to match the margins for example)
and maintains the ratio with the height.
What version of Word are you using?
What are you changing and need to be repeated?
