Firefox browser changed FP features

I have FP 2003, version 4.0.2.3821. After I installed Mozilla Firefox
browser, it changed the way my local webs looked and certain features were
gone from FP; e.g., I could no longer right click on a file and publish it;
it removed the tab at bottom that let me view my web pages on the remote
server, it removed the bottom border (I got it back after getting rid of
Mozilla and recreating the border), it no longer had links on the right when
I first opened FP which would show the last file I had accessed, and several
other things I can't recall right now. I uninstalled Firefox and went back to
IE, then tried detect and repair FP, reboot, but nothing has changed! My webs
seem to look ok on the remote server, but is there anything I can do to get
FP back the way it previously was on my hard drive? I can't uninstall the
entire FP because I have over 750 pages and it would be a nightmare to
recreate the entire web.

I seriously doubt that installing Firefox did anything to FrontPage.
However, have you run a repair of FrontPage from the help dropdown?

Also:
Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP Cleaner ( with Expression Web and
SharePoint Designer support )
Download links are at the bottom of the page.
Run the functions that clear:
The Hidden Temporary files.
The Hidden Cache (*.web) files.
and then
Restore Menus and toolbars.

See if it helps.

Yes, I ran both of these with no change. I also inserted my FP2003 CD and did
both "install" and "reinstall and repair." (It asked for my MS Office 2000
SR-1 Premium disk which I inserted.) It now says it is FrontPage 2000,
Version 4.0.2.3821; however, when I went to control panel it said I had
FP2003 installed. My ZoneAlarm firewall/programs says it is FP 2000
installed.

Here are other things missing: At the top of FP it used to show the path of
the file I had opened in my local webs; also I used to be able to see tabs at
top showing which files were open (now I have to go up to "Window" to click
on them and can only view them one at a time.

Any other ideas of what went wrong and what to try?

Something just worked!! After I last replied, I decided to try the FPCleaner
again and not only deleted hidden temp & cache files, but clicked "restore
menu and toolbars" (just in case I didn't do it before--which I am sure I
did). This time it said it put the old toolbars in the recycle bin. Then I
started FP and it looks like it always did! Now it's saying I have FP2003
(11.8164.8221) SP3. Thanks a lot, Steve!!

Steve, I spoke too soon. Things are still problematic. It reverted back to
the FP w/o all the features and would only become "correct" when I ran FP
Cleaner.

I found out I had 2 programs listed in ZoneAlarm firewall (don't know if
this has anything to do with it):

The first was FP 2003, a greyish color icon, file name is: C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office/OFFICE11\FRONTPG.EXE, version is 11.0.8164. This is
the one that makes it open correctly w/all the features.

The other was FP 2000, blue icon,, file name: C:\ProgramFiles\Microsoft
Office\Office\FRONTPG.EXE, version 4.0.2.3821. This is the one that doesn't
open it correctly.

I uninstalled and reinstalled ZoneAlarm and it has only the grey FP 2003
icon listed at present.

But I had to make a shortcut to the FRONTPAGE.EXE from my office11 folder
and place it on my desktop and also dragged it to Start in order to get it to
open up the correct FP 2003.

What is going on here? How can I get FP Cleaner to open the correct one?

Sorry this is so long.
