Forums lookup/search issue

This is probably the wrong place to post this, but I couldn't find anywhere
better. I used to be able to search my posts by using my name. Currently
all that comes up are old cases, 2008 and prior, none of the 2009 posts.
This caused me to think that my recent post in excel was not getting through
and I ended up posting the same issue 4 times before I tripped across them by
looking at every single post in the forum.

Has the ability to search by name been taken away from the forums? Can
anyone suggest a different way to monitor my posts so I can retrieve posted
responses? For some reason, replies are not getting into my inbox so I don't
know when someone has posted a reply.

If this is the wrong place to post this, please let me know where it should
have gone. Thanks.

Do yourself a BIG favour and ditch the horrible web interface. Use a news
reader instead.

My web interface is microsoft internet explorer, directly to the microsoft
communities. As far as a news reader, please understand I know how to use
certain programs but am not knowledgeable about much more than that. That
said, how is the microsoft outlook express search any different than going
right to the microsoft communities and doing the same search that used to
work.

Thanks for the clarification.

Because the search function in a newsreader is far superior to the search
function in a web forum and faster, because all the headers are residing on
your machine, not on some remote website..

I will have to look into this with the person who handles our pc's when he
comes in. However, just so we are clear, the search function on these forums
no longer works. I tried searching by name and title, but only my old posts
came up, nothing from 2009 at all. I had to literally go through thread by
thread to find the issue I logged and your responses.

So it seems like Microsoft has changed or disabled the search function for
anything current. Makes the forums much harder to use. Also the feed to my
hotmail account for any replies no longer works. I'm sure I'm not the only
one to notice this considering the number of posts going into the forums. It
almost seems like Microsoft purposely disables things to force people to, and
I use this term loosely, "upgrade" to garbage like Vista. Maybe that is just
my impression but it seems like every time there is an "improvement",
functionality gets reduced.

Anyway, thanks for the information.

Regards

So don't use the web interface. Use a news reader instead like I
suggested...you'll find your "experience" much better...
