Gantt Of Resources

O

ohmaps

I want to create in msp a view that includes resources in the left row
and a gantt chart in the right with the activities that uses that
resources.

If an activity uses two resources it would appear in two different
lines and if I move an activity that uses two resources both lines must
be updated.

Let me know if it's posible to do that.

Hi ohmaps ,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

The Gantt Chart draws the tasks as calculated by the network analysis using
critical path method befor any resources are assigned. Thus, you can have
only one task showing on the Gantt Chart. There is no facility to do what
you want, though the Resource Usage view is an alternative. Also, have a
look at the Resource allocation view.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

As an alternative (in 2003) Why not try grouping

Project / Group by / more groups / New

(set up your own structure)

You will need to also set this up with a coding structure - Either enter
data in a new column "outline code 1" or a text column.

Have a try - let me know if this helps and if there are any further details
you require

Hi ohmaps,

If you want a view to approximate that try a split with Resource
Sheet at the top grouped by Resource Group and then show the Gantt
chart in the lower pane. You can then select the resources in the
group and view the Gantt chart of their tasks in the lower pane.
Sadly, the view cannot be printed but you can do a screen capture
(using a product like SnagIT).

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
